A Note from Dr. Dennis…. I spent 12 ½ years as a middle school principal assigned as a “Turn around” administrator to increase student achievement in schools identified as low performing. In each assignment, students made significant gains and sometimes academically outscored magnet schools. Not only have I been where many administrators and teachers are today in seeking the best instructional strategies to meet their students’ needs, I have experienced success with low performing students. In many instances, educators need to be reassured and inspired that their unwavering efforts to teach their students each day is valued.
